Course Description: The HMI Programming (PLC Level IV) Course is the final course in the PLC Certification series of courses. This course specifically targets Maintenance Technicians and Engineers who are tasked with maintenance, troubleshooting, improvement, and/ or development of equipment and processes that utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). The course covers: configuring a PanelView Plus terminal, RSLinx enterprise communications, FactoryTalk security, and display security, creating and customizing a FactoryTalk View ME application, creating and modifying tags and graphic objects, adding and configuring graphic displays, creating and manipulating graphic objects, configuring basic animation for FactoryTalk View ME objects, configuring RSLinx Enterprise Communication in a FactoryTalk ME application, creating and configuring interactive controls, information messages, alarms, and macros, and managing FactoryTalk View ME runtime files. Hands-on laboratory exercises utilizing Allen-Bradley PLCs and software are utilized to facilitate learning. Course Objective: Individuals successfully completing this course students will be able to develop an operational RSLogix FactorTalk View ME program running on a PanelView Plus terminal that satisfies a given machine operating specification. This will encompass the ability to develop an HMI program directly from a narrative description and write efficient HMI programs utilizing RSLogix FactorTalk View ME software per standard programming procedures. Learning Outcomes: At the conclusion of this course students will be able to: 1. Creating and Organizing a Studio 5000 FactoryTalk View Studio ME Application 2. Navigate through Terminal settings and set the IP address 3. Setup a Data Server 4. Ability to create static graphic objects including texts, panels, and images 5. Ability to import an image from Application Explorer and the Image Browser 6. Ability to place an image from the Graphic Library and the Symbol Library 7. Ability to manipulate graphic objects using the Graphics Toolbar, the Arrange Menu, and the Objects Menu 8. Ability to use various tools to adjust a graphic objects property's 9. Ability to turn a graphic object into wallpaper 10. Ability to add display navigation to screens 11. Ability to create a Pop-Up display 12. Ability to add and configure Pushbuttons 13. Ability to add and configure Indicators 14.
